Abstract :
AC/multiterminal DC (MTDC) power systems are strong nonlinear systems. The controllers designed by direct use of nonlinear control methods have better performance than these designed by linear methods, based on an approximately linearized model of AC/MTDC systems. A method of global linearization of nonlinear systems by differential geometric control is applied to draw out a nonlinear control law of DC power modulation combined with steam valving control. A numerical example is given
