Abstract
Due to increasing concerns with public health safety and security, and the shipment of chlorine, there is a growing interest by industry, suppliers and industrial bleach end users for smaller, modular Chlor-Alkali facilities. Large municipal and other water treatment users are particularly interested in this onsite approach. This case study paper presents the challenges faced and lessons learned by the scaling down of processes and equipment in the design and construction of Direct to Bleach plants.
