Abstract :
The minimum variance (MV) method is compared with the direct FFT method in application to the ultrasonic Doppler flow velocity signal. The MV results are better in terms of physical interpretation and properties of spectral parameters. The method is better suited for inferring velocity distribution on the basis of the Doppler spectrum and for stenosis detection
