Abstract :
Highly sensitive and selective monitoring method of trichloroethylene was newly developed. Selective reaction reagent that was used in the gas detecting tube was utilized. Using lead dioxide (PbO/sub 2/), hydrogen chloride (HCl) in proportion to the trichloroethylene concentration was formed. This was adsorbed on the copper electrode, and increase of the weight was measured. In case of 50 ppb of trichloroethylene concentration and fundamental frequencies of 12 MHz at 30/spl deg/C, the frequency response of about -12 Hz was obtained. As a result of the examination, it was found that the minimum detection resolution was about 4 ppb/Hz.
