Abstract :
The paper presents the control of shunt active power filter using the sliding mode controller. The instantaneous power theory is applied for harmonic detection to calculate the reference currents. The dynamic models of the shunt active power filter on three-phase and dq frames are proposed in the paper. The model on dq frame is used to derive the control strategy. Moreover, the stability criterion using the Lyapunov unction is also presented in the paper. The simulation results show that the proposed controller can reduce the %THD of source currents after compensation and it can regulate the DC bus voltage of shunt active power filter.
