Abstract :
Improved variants of the video processing unit structure for a pyroelectric vidicon (or pyroelectric array) based infrared (IR) camera are considered. In comparison with the standard processing method, the proposed solutions provide a decrease in the noise equivalent temperature difference (NETD), the possibility of sensitivity correction according to the distribution of a pedestal level, a reduced number of digits in the analog-to-digital converter and the entire processing in one unit
