Abstract :
A new method for the estimation of the number of multipaths is proposed. By unitary transforming the covariance matrix, the number of multipaths can be evaluated by the Gerschgorin radii of the transformed matrix. Simulation results show that the proposed method can make the estimation accurately even at small data samples.
