Abstract :
To assess the potential of induction machines in hybrid vehicles, it is necessary to have an accurate efficiency map of the machine. A new modeling methodology is proposed to represent the nonlinear magnetic behavior in the machine. The model is an improved equivalent circuit of the induction machine where FEM accuracy is combined with the potential of analytical modeling. Only a limited number of FEM simulations is necessary for a complete machine model. This methodology is used on induction machines to determine the optimal operating points and efficiency mapping.
