  • Abstract
    Some practical FIR digital filter optimality criteria and constraints are discussed. Algorithms are described and examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of these approaches. The discussion focuses on lowpass FIR digital filters with linear phase, but similar methods can be applied to other types of filters, such as IIR filters with bandpass, highpass, or multiband frequency responses
