Abstract
Hardware design and implementation of a 2-D sample-and-hold semisystolic filter structure are presented. Log preprocessing and analog postprocessing circuits are utilized with a high-frequency emphasis 2-D infinite impulse response (IIR) filter to provide homomorphic filtering. Commercially available analog ICs and components (operational amplifiers, charge coupled devices, etc.) are utilized throughout, resulting in a 2-D IIR filter realization capable of high real-time rates such as those encountered in high definition television (HDTV)
