Abstract
We propose a novel packet coding scheme, transceiver packet coding scheme for DS-CDMA ad hoc networks. The design facilitates collision resolution by embedding the address information of both the transmitter and receiver in the coding scheme so that the receiver can identify the packet addressing to it without actually decoding the information symbol bits. In addition, the present scheme also avoids transmitter retransmissions and receivers wasting time in receiving a packet to completion if the packet is not addressed to it which causes additional battery energy consumption. A bank of matched filters is used to identify intended receivers, although any multiuser detection algorithm can easily be applied. The performance of the proposed coding scheme is studied by investigating its rate of missing receiver detection.
