  • Abstract
    This paper presents a numerical method in order to measure and analyze the charging characteristics of storage batteries for PV power systems. The measurement data is retrieved from the PV modules by a specific data acquisition system. A numerical algorithm developed in the Matlab/Simulink environment is used to model the charging characteristics of the batteries connected to a PV system. Through the interpolation method, the polynomial functions of total battery current and battery state of charge depending on time and illumination are obtained. The numerical values of the errors between the theoretical and experimental results prove the accuracy of the proposed method.
