Abstract
The paper presents several characteristics relevant to the analysis and design of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables. A lumped-parameter model is presented and the computation procedure of the model parameters is developed. The numerical results are obtained by using the finite element models. A comparison between the analytical and numerical results is presented for some practical cases but the results can be extended for complex geometries of the cables
