Abstract :
As consumer demand for information access increases, technology companies are faced with unprecedented challenges in creating operating systems for new consumer electronics devices. Now more than ever, embedded operating systems must be built for a completely different breed of devices: ones that contain minimal memory, run on many platforms, connect to almost any peripheral device, and show their contents on nearly every size and quality display. These devices are information appliances: Internet enabled televisions, smart phones, vertical business devices-and, according to industry analysts, they are some of the most promising and fastest growing devices in today´s market
