Abstract :
Adjustable speed drives are migrating from industrial applications to home appliances, where the cost is one of the main product requirements. The correct choice of digital microprocessor is essential to achieve the cost restrictions. This paper presents some performance metrics which can be used to select the right processor for each motor control application. The simulation results were validated by in experimental laboratory prototype.
