Abstract :
In this paper we outline a control design for feedback in fluid flows by control of a smart material structure with which the flow interacts. Adaptive material such as piezoceramics offer challenging new possibilities in active control of fluid flows. A concrete example of such an effort has been considered by Banks et al. (1994), where the authors consider an acoustic pressure chamber with one side consisting of a flexible beam with attached piezoceramic patches as control devices
