Abstract
Recently, erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs), which have wavelength-independent gain have been intensively researched. For most EDFAs, the gain shape of the gain spectrum depends on the operating gain level and the wavelength range. Moreover, the small signal gain in the wavelength range is low. In this paper, we focused on the performance potential of a gain flatness in the wavelength range 1544-1559 nm
