  • Abstract
Multimedia communication and high quality digital video are destined to become pervasive. The market has many segments, and media processing capabilities will be incarnated in many different ways and embedded in many different kinds of devices and computers. In this environment, an open multimedia platform architecture will reign. At its hub will be a programmable mediaprocessor. It is Philips intention to establish TriMedia as the mediaprocessor of choice across these different applications, thus enabling compelling digital multimedia content on heterogeneous systems around the world
