Abstract :
This paper is to present a solution on how to improve Quality of Picture on Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG-4) video compression over IEEE 802.15.1 wireless transmission using artificial intelligence (AI). IEEE 802.15.1 standard is sensitive to noise and interferences due to other 2.4 GHz Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) devices. It is consequently, difficult to predict an accurate transmission rate. MPEG-4 video is an object oriented compression system and it is data hungry. But It is almost impossible to transmit MPEG-4 over IEEE 802.15.1 standard without excessive delay, data loss or degrading of the image quality. In this paper, two neural-fuzzy have been applied to control a buffer at the input and the reception end to monitor and manipulate the flow of MPEG-4 video over the IEEE 802.15.1 standard. This method will leave less data for the IEEE 802.15.1 token bucket, as some of the data is processed at the buffer. The results obtained by simulation confirm that the application of artificial intelligence improves the transmission rate and the image quality, as compared with a classical video transmission over IEEE 802.15.1 standard.
