Abstract
We consider the capacity of MIMO systems with antenna selection at the receiver. The selection goal is to find a combination of receive antennas, which can provide high capacity and low computational complexity. We first give an overview of antenna selection algorithms in MIMO systems. After investigating different kinds of selection schemes published already, a new antenna selection algorithm is proposed, which is suitable for the condition where the number of the selected antennas, Lr, is equal to that of the transmit antennas, Nt. Simulation results demonstrate that the new antenna selection scheme can obtain capacity closer to the optimum selection and has low computational complexity.
