Abstract
In the present study, numerical simulations of drilling fluids that composed with two media on a mechanical agitator in a mud handling system were carried out to investigate the mixing performance of agitator and the keeping performance of homogeneity using both Eulerian and Lagrangian approaches. For simulation, two commercial softwares, STAR CCM+ based on Eulerian approach and Particleworks based on Lagrangian approach, were adopted. The results of simulation had been compared to those of experiments performed by Nagata et al.(1959).
