Abstract :
This paper presents the system designs of a small biped robot aiming for the use as a teaching material at universities. Easily available cheap key components were used to develop the robot system; a geared-motor of a toy and a PIC microcomputer, for example. The evaluation experiments were conducted to investigate whether the developed robot system was suitable or not as a teaching material. University students from first to third year tried to fabricate the robot system in order to evaluate the robot system. It was confirmed that the robot system was suitable as a teaching material.
