Abstract :
A novel online identification method to determine the switched reluctance motor (SRM) characteristics for high-performance operation is presented. The machine phase resistance and the parameters of the flux-based SRM model are updated simultaneously so that any dynamic change in the motor characteristics is transparent to the controller. Simulation and experiment demonstrate the validity of the proposed self-tuning algorithm for SRM parameters. The method eliminates the parameter sensitivity making the controller robust for high performance operation.
