Abstract :
Computer-assisted medical decision management will probably increase substantially over the next several years. The information explosion and oversight from a variety of agencies will provide the stimulus, and the availability of decision and data management tools will provide the means. An essential requisite is a shift from paper-based to electronic medical data management. The Rush Surgical Information System is discussed as an example of a clinical information system
