Abstract
A composite of a long afterglow SrAl2O4 co-doped with Eu and Dy (SAOEuDy) powders and a silicone was fabricated in order to improve the water-resistance of the SAOEuDy phosphors. The phosphorescence characteristics of the SAOEuDy composite were measured for the variation of water temperature from 0degC to 100degC. In the temperature range, the phosphorescence intensity increases linearly with increasing temperature. This result indicates that the water-resistive SAOEuDy composite is useful sensor material
