Abstract :
Sharp-directional antenna arrays, excited with electromagnetic waves travelling along a transmission line, are widely used in practice as alternatives to sharp-directional reflector, lens and horn antennas, especially in cases when it is necessary to control the main lobe pattern direction, i.e. as phased antenna arrays. Lately, in connexion with the development of space telecommunication technologies, the interest in non-phased arrays has been revived. The basic reason for this is the smaller volume of such arrays in comparison with aperture antennas having the same characteristics. Moreover, using microstrip and slot radiators allows sufficiently simply realization of plane or conformal antennas. This paper carries out investigations of the angle antenna arrays difference patterns and demonstrates that their slope can be larger than for linear arrays with the same number of radiators and band features. This is determined from the band properties of their sum patterns.
