Abstract :
Adaptive stabilization of linear systems with stability margin α is considered. The algorithm consists of a modification of the switching function adaptive stabilizing scheme, where the parameter updating law is allowed to contain a growing exponential. For the general case, the required a priori knowledge for the algorithm is the order of any linear, time-invariant controller placing the poles to the left of Re s=-α
