Abstract :
The growing demand for electricity has forced towards the implementation of smart grid where the various participants share and communicate power system data to trade electricity and control electrical power systems. Though service orientation acts as a promising technology to solve integration problems among these domains, data exchange and information interpretation are continuing to be challenges. This paper focuses on the implementation of smart grid from information integration perspective and discusses the various approaches attempted to address the integration problem. The open data model representation proposed in this paper would enable the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based smart grid integration architecture to be more interactive and dynamic to improve power system reliability and reduce per unit cost of electricity.
