Abstract :
The environmental wind turbines of all sizes have become a familiar sight around the world for a wide variety of reasons, including their economic, environmental, and social benefits. A portable wind turbine is studied in this paper which is designed to use in a wilderness in particular and is capable of providing the amount of energy which is required for users for charging laptop, mobile phones, ipod and other similar electrical equipments. The challenges which the community are faced to, in the design and in the development of such technology are discussed studying the case study which is designed at department of mechanical engineering, University of Birmingham. Different steps of the design are discussed including the design of the blades which is a crucial stage as it will greatly influence the operation and performance of the wind turbine, as well as the nose of the wind turbine.
