Abstract :
This paper, as the practical network tutorial in the organized session OS06, outlines the latest updates of Foundation Fieldbus technologies and practical installations as the field instruments networks in the process automation industries. Also, by discussing historical and technological backgrounds of the digital wave in the field measurement and control system, the Foundation Fieldbus features may be clearly identified from the other types of field networks. The intelligent sensors, actuators and digital networks are bringing down the innovations into the field instrumentation and control system design in PA industries.
