Abstract :
This paper presents a method for the measurement of the inductances Ld and Lq of the synchronous reluctance machine in all operating points with consideration of saturation and cross coupling. The measured inductances are used to calculate the currents necessary for optimum torque development in base speed and field weakening range. The implementation of these characteristics in a rotor-oriented control scheme and practical results are demonstrated. Additionally the measured characteristics are used for the development of a new parameter-based sensorless control scheme.
