Abstract :
To achieve significant reduction in the design time of digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm-specific ICs, automatic hardware realization from a high-level algorithmic description of the system is desired. If this is to be accomplished with optimal use of hardware resources, the target architecture must be well defined. A design methodology that supports the automation of the design DSP systems is described. A description of the design system is given, and its use in the design of a number of DSP systems is discussed
