Abstract :
Summary form only given. A compression wave generated by the expanding channel is known to be a lens distorting the real channel dimensions. Relative error of the channel radius R(t) measurement is in proportion to the wave pressure which at the channel wall is equal to P(t)=P(R/sub 0/,R(t),V(t)), where R(t) is the function for radius depending on time, R/sub 0/=R(0), V(t)=dR/dt. The dependence V(t) is usually determined by numerical differentiation of the curve for R(t). Distorting of the channel dimension (radius) under measurements as well as to mathematical differentiation error the kinematic characteristics are determined with a definite error. This error is especially large at the beginning of the plasma channel expansion. That is why the trustworthiness of the calculated pressure obtained for the initial stage of discharge is low.
