Abstract
Perspective effects in an image make parallel lines converge to a point, termed a vanishing point, in the infinity. Finding vanishing points is playing an important role in 3D perception and analysis of 2D images. One of the most efficient methods to detect these points is texture-orientation based method. The main drawback of this method is high computational time and complexity. In this paper we propose to use a Genetic Algorithm to reduce time and complexity in texture-orientation based vanishing point detection. The experimental results show the efficacy of the proposed method.
