Abstract
Both copyright infringements and information leaks using P2P file sharing software are becoming big social issues. There are a lot of P2P file sharing software products, and BitTorrent is one of the most popular ones among them these days. Therefore our study pays attention to BitTorrent-like P2Psystems. To solve the file outflow issues, several studies to control the diffusion of the specific file have already been performed. However, there are few studies which target super-seed mode which is one of the most promising file distribution algorithms in BitTorrent. Therefore, we propose a method to interfere with file diffusion over P2P networks using super-seed mode. This proposed method uses a special peer (control peer) that is uncooperative with file diffusion. As a result of simulation experiment, we were able to estimate the effects of the proposed method for decreasing the diffusion speed of a target file quantitatively. This technology can be regarded as a method to achieve assurance networks, securing BitTorrent-like networks from malicious activities.
