Abstract :
In this paper, a stripline structure with dual slots is investigated with the goal of creating a dual band, symmetrical omni-directional antenna. The investigation is done via numerical simulation using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The results compared well with those based on commercial software. One dual-band configuration provided a reasonable 10 dB bandwidth of 25% at 5.8 GHz and 10% at 2.45 GHz. The effect of different design parameters on the resonant frequencies and bandwidth is then discussed.
