Abstract :
The TEAM (Team Engineering Analysis and Modeling) research project advocates a competence-centered approach to modeling the interaction among members of engineering design teams. The authors describe the first phase of research: empirical analysis of team member interactions. Comments and responses from an electronic design review system were analyzed to describe message design and participants´ interaction. This modeling effort will form the basis for knowledge-based tools to support consensus management in engineering design teams
