Abstract :
Oil pollution is the major environmental concern in the world. It is important to detect oil spill and take necessary step to prevent pollution in marine ecosystem. Among several satellite, SAR can provide high resolution images with wide area coverage, day and night, and all weather capabilities. This paper presents anisotropic diffusion filtering and morphological levelling method for image simplification like denoising of SAR image and edge detection, this is one of the successful method for denoising of SAR image. Geometric level set segmentation is used to detect oil spill from SAR images.
