Abstract
A new approach for predicting the field diffracted by a building corner is here proposed. This last is considered as a right-angle junction of penetrable lossy slabs and its geometrical optics response is attained by extending the method developed by Burnside and Burgener for lossless slabs. The diffraction coefficient is obtained by using a physical optics approximation of the equivalent surface currents densities induced by a plane wave normally incident on the corner and by performing a uniform asymptotic evaluation of the resulting radiation integral.
