Abstract
A modified linear predictor control was applied to a mercury removal process in refuse incineration plants. The process has a delay in the input. The process removes mercury from the exhaust gas by spraying on an oxidizing agent solution. The purpose of the control is to suppress the concentration of emission below a certain level by as little consumption of the oxidizing agent as possible. A microcomputer-based controller was installed in an actual plant, and the control performance has been verified
