Abstract :
The authors show how the first level of a generalization-specialization hierarchy, which is called the hierarchy of formal classes, is constructed. This level classifies the object types of the reference set and generates a partition of the mandatory characteristics in equivalence classes, taking into account its level. It is shown that new knowledge is captured from the list of primitive object types by means of comparisons made on triplets of object types obtained from elemental facts stated by the expert while the hierarchy of formal classes is being constructed
