Abstract :
The application of 1.3 μm Pr ion doped optical fiber amplifier (PDFA) for CATV subscriber network is reviewed. Design consideration and theoretical analysis of PDFA is conducted. Based on the interaction between the photon and electric field along the fiber, a numerical calculation of the signal gain, effective fiber length and pump optimization are also made
