Abstract
In this paper, we propose a predistortion linearizing method using a frequency up-conversion operation. This method does not require any additional signal sources even using the mixing operation. This method uses the 2/sup nd/ low frequency intermodulation distortion signal of a driver amplifier as the mixing signal. With the proposed predistortion method, the (C/I)/sub 3rd/ of the amplifier is improved by 26 dB (@Po=22 dBm/tone), where the two tones are 1.8544 GHz and 1.8556 GHz.
