Abstract
Feature-phone-based mobile social games in Japan have boosted their revenue since the 2nd half of 2009. The rapid growth of revenue-generation enables a wide range of trial and error for creating revenue-generation engines. The author analyzes monetization techniques used in feature-phone-based social games. The author discusses the underlying design principles behind the hype of mobile social games.
