Abstract :
We propose a novel packet batch dependant cross-layer scheduling scheme for the downlink multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, which significantly outperforms the existing queue dependant scheduling scheme over a wide range of signal-to-noise (SNR) in terms of the system bandwidth efficiency, best-effort (BE) traffic throughput and quality of service (QoS) traffic delay, while requiring a lower complexity. Our batch dependant scheduling also provides a better tradeoff between the QoS traffic and BE traffic. It is also shown to guarantee the system stability.
