  • Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. The lossy section was experimentally proved to be effective on the suppressions of the absolute instability in the gyrotron traveling wave amplifier. A particle tracing code which calculates the self-consistent field profile in a weakly non-uniform interaction structure with properly modeled loss factor is applied to examine the effects of the lossy section under different operation parameters and lossy section lengths. The numerical results will also be compared with the experimental results.
