Abstract :
From the background of service diversity, to provide differentiated reliability services has become a trend in WDM networks because of the size of current and future networks and the diverse QoS requirements for multimedia services. Considering both the survivability of a service and its QoS, a QoS-based differentiated protection algorithm called QPP-LG (QoS-based partial protection algorithm based on wavelength layered-graph) is proposed. In this algorithm, a scheme of classified partial lightpath protection based on link reliability is presented to meet the QoS requirements of connections and the different levels of protection and blocking probability, according to the classified QoS and reliability requirements. Simulation results show that the algorithm is efficient in terms of resource utilization and blocking fairness.
