Abstract :
Projects with minimal and maximal time lags between different activities are considered. We model such projects using cyclic activity-on-node networks. Heuristics for various types of optimization problems are discussed. The problem of finding an optimal make-to order production schedule is modelled as a resource-constrained project scheduling problem. We outline what appear to be fruitful areas of further research into certain issues in this field. We conclude that the newly developed models and solution techniques represent useful advances in project scheduling
