Abstract
The recent progress in apparatus technology of Korean power industries are indebted to the governmental drive to upgrade the design and manufacturing capabilities towards the improvement of competitiveness in world markets. Kepco also understand this situation and fully support this move by funding many core technology development projects. Also the ongoing 765 kV transmission system construction projects seems to provide a firm foundation of realizing this initiative. Collaboration with small component businesses or companies will contribute to the improvement of the completed product quality and also to end the foreign technology dependence in new product development
