Abstract :
Power System Stabilizers (PSS) are used to generate supplementary damping control signals for the excitation system in order to damp the Low Frequency Oscillations (LFO) of the electric power system. This paper presents a tuned fuzzy logic based power system stabilizer (TFPSS) capable of providing appropriate stabilization signals over a broad range of operating conditions and disturbance. The proposed TFPSS is evaluated against the conventional power system stabilizer (CPSS) at a single machine infinite bus power system. The simulation results clearly indicate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed method.
